Rumors about Katy Perry's new single are surfacing just days after the announcement of a new album on the way. Idolator.com was the first to cite "well-placed" industry sources saying that Katy's new single will be called "Roar."
On Wednesday, a press release dated Thursday, August 1st was posted onto gossip site Popjustice.com, with the same information - adding that the single was scheduled to hit radio next week. Without specifically denying the details, the pop star's team shot down the press release right away, telling "Huffington Post" that it was made up by a fan.
But other clues are leading some to believe that "Roar" would make sense as a possible single title. Not only does it fall into the pattern of Katy's previous two fragrance names "Purr" and "Meow," one of the single's producers Dr. Luke may have dropped a hint as well. He tweeted last month that "the new song starts with an 'R.'"

Meantime, the title of Katy's new album starts with a "P." It's called Prism and is due out in October.
